America Heard the Voice - Now Hear the band
Born from the story of Richard Goodall, “The Singing Janitor,” that captured the hearts of millions, Sugar Street featuring Richard Goodall is proof that dreams don’t have an expiration date. Blending heartland soul with the force of classic rock, the band delivers performances that inspire as much as they entertain.
Fronted by America’s Got Talent Season 19 winner Richard Goodall, “The Singing Janitor,” Sugar Street includes seasoned Midwest musicians: Jeremy Bates (guitar), Adam Brown (keys),David Williamson (drums), and Kevin Millington (bass). Together, they bring timeless rock anthems to life with precision, spirit, and emotional impact.
Goodall’s journey from school custodian to AGT champion is a story of perseverance and hope. After years singing in schools, churches, and local bars, he took the AGT stage and stunned the judges with his rendition of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” His authenticity, humility, and captivating voice transformed him into a symbol of what belief and courage can achieve.
When the performance concluded, Simon Cowell called it “the perfect audition — raw, real, and straight from the heart.” Heidi Klum said, “You just gave America chills.” Howie Mandel added, “This is what this show is all about — ordinary people with extraordinary talent.”
That moment blossomed further when Sugar Street joined Goodall on the America’s Got Talent Season 20 Finale, performing his original song “Long Time Coming” in a landmark collaboration with legendary Journey guitarist Neal Schon. As NBC Insider reported, Schon introduced himself to Goodall:
“Richard, it’s Neal from Journey. I loved your audition, man, and I have a surprise for you: I’m coming to perform with you on the Finale.” After the performance, Schon called Goodall “a phenomenon,” praising him as “an amazing singer, an amazing man.”
Today, Richard Goodall brings that same spirit nationwide in various capacities. From theaters to festival fields, Sugar Street featuring Richard Goodall’s shows celebrate the songs that move people — Journey, Foreigner, Styx, Toto, and more — delivered with authenticity, precision, and passion. This is not just a band. It’s a living reminder that believing never goes out of style.
